Check Your ScreenTune Install

Check the install in two passes. Most changes show right after the install restart. Startup changes show only on the next cold start, after the car has been off long enough for Mazda Connect to shut down fully.

Right after the install restart

When Mazda Connect returns to its normal screen, remove the USB and check:

1. The Miatafy app. Open Applications → Miatafy. It should show the licensed VIN and MATCHED TO THIS CAR. See the Miatafy app.
2. Meters, if you chose it. Open Applications → Meters. Readings fill in once their sources are ready. See Getting started with Meters.
3. The changes you can see without driving. Use the table below.

Each selected change and how to check it

The Your choice column uses the names from the configurator. The in-car list uses its own names, shown in the last column.

Not in the list. Less background logging, Keep recent screens ready, Fix message ordering, the faster startup work, and Mazda services you turned off run in the background and do not appear in WHAT’S INSTALLED. See Mazda services ScreenTune can turn off.

On the next cold start

Switch the car off, let Mazda Connect shut down, then start it again. Check the startup changes from the table, and the faster startup: the screen responds to touch sooner than before. The install restart is not a fair test. Boot benchmarks has the measured times.

The Miatafy app shows what is installed

Applications → Miatafy is the in-car record of what ScreenTune installed. It shows:

• The licensed VIN, under LICENSED VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER, with a status: MATCHED TO THIS CAR when the car’s VIN matches the license, VIN DOES NOT MATCH when it does not, or CURRENT VIN UNAVAILABLE before the car is fully on.
• A QR code. Scan it with your phone to open My ScreenTune for this car.
• WHAT’S INSTALLED. Opens Installed features with a count such as 8 FEATURES ACTIVE and one row per customer-facing change.
• EXPORT SUPPORT BUNDLE. Saves diagnostics to a USB drive for support. See export a support bundle.

If something is missing

What you see	What to do
A selected change is missing from WHAT’S INSTALLED or does not work	Run REPAIR with the same USB. If it is still missing, see a feature is missing.
Meters is not in Applications	Restart Mazda Connect once, then run REPAIR. See Meters troubleshooting.
VIN DOES NOT MATCH	The install is licensed to another VIN, for example after the Mazda Connect unit was replaced. See email and ownership changes and send support a photo of the Miatafy app screen.
CURRENT VIN UNAVAILABLE	Turn the ignition fully on and open the app again.
