Skip the Startup Disclaimer and Camera Warning Text

ScreenTune removes two factory notices. Each is a separate option, and both are on by default in new configurations:

OptionWhat changes
Skip the startup disclaimerMazda Connect opens without waiting on the factory safety confirmation screen.
Remove the reverse-camera warningThe “Please Check Surroundings For Safety” text no longer covers the camera image.

Neither option changes the camera, the car’s warning chimes, or any driving system.

The startup disclaimer is accepted for you

Section titled “The startup disclaimer is accepted for you”

Stock Mazda Connect shows a caution notice on every cold start and holds the home screen until you select OK or it times out. With Skip the startup disclaimer, Mazda Connect accepts the notice itself during startup and goes straight to the home screen.

The camera warning text becomes transparent

Section titled “The camera warning text becomes transparent”

The “Please Check Surroundings For Safety” text over the reverse camera is built into the factory software as one image per interface language. Remove the reverse-camera warning replaces each of them with a transparent image, so the camera picture shows through in every language.

Packages before ScreenTune 1.0.6 could leave the text visible. If you still see it on an older package, update ScreenTune.

The camera remains a parking aid. Check your surroundings before and while reversing.

New orders. In the configurator, the Setup step lists both options under Everyday improvements. Select Customize to turn either one off.

Existing customers. In My ScreenTune, open Change features, change the choices on Setup, and request the updated package (add or change ScreenTune features). In the car, choose UPDATE, or REPAIR if the prompt shows the version you already have.

  1. Open Applications → Miatafy and select WHAT’S INSTALLED. The disclaimer option appears as Shorter startup experience and the camera option as Cleaner reverse camera view.
  2. Switch the car fully off and wait for the screen to go dark, then start it again. Mazda Connect should reach the home screen with no caution notice. After a very short stop the system may not fully shut down, and then even a stock car skips the notice, so test after a full power-down.
  3. With the car stopped, your foot on the brake, and the area clear, select reverse. The camera image should show no warning text.

If either notice still appears, insert the ScreenTune USB and choose REPAIR (repair ScreenTune). If that does not fix it, see a feature is missing.

REMOVE restores the files these options changed to their first-install baseline, the copies saved at the first ScreenTune installation. If the car was stock then, the startup disclaimer and the camera warning text return. See remove ScreenTune.
