Meters Data Reference
Meters exposes 59 selectable values in 13 groups. The primary road-speed and engine-speed instruments remain fixed; any selectable value can also be assigned to any of the eleven secondary positions.
Meters is a read-only display. It does not tune the engine or send control commands to the vehicle.

Verified readings and raw codes
Section titled “Verified readings and raw codes”Normal readings have a known quantity, validation rule, and display format. Meters converts speed, distance, altitude, temperature, time, and date using the current Mazda Connect settings where applicable.
Fields marked RAW expose the integer code transported by the factory data source. Those values are useful for investigation and vehicle-to-vehicle comparison, but their scale or enum meaning has not been claimed. Meters does not invent a unit, label a gear, or turn a source code into a percentage without calibration evidence.
Freshness and unavailable values
Section titled “Freshness and unavailable values”Each source has an age limit appropriate to the signal. Motion data expires sooner than temperatures or fuel data. Meters also rejects the wrong data type, out-of-range values, and malformed records.
When a value is missing, stale, or invalid, the field shows an unavailable state instead of retaining the last number. This is expected during startup and can also mean that a particular vehicle does not publish the source.
GPS quality rules
Section titled “GPS quality rules”Position fields require a usable GPS fix. Meters accepts the factory fix only when it falls within the supported fix types and quality limits. Latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, course, and heading can disappear when the fix becomes stale or inaccurate.
Meters does not upload or log coordinates. Its browser code connects only to local loopback services on the CMU. A coordinate appears only on the screen when the owner assigns that field and the current fix passes validation.
Calculated values
Section titled “Calculated values”- Top Speed is the highest accepted road-speed reading in the current drive session.
- Average Speed is calculated from accepted road-speed readings during the current drive session.
- Drive Time tracks the current drive session.
These app-derived values are display aids, not certified instruments or permanent logs.
Units and localization
Section titled “Units and localization”Road and GPS speed follow miles or kilometers. Temperatures follow Celsius or Fahrenheit. The clock follows 12-hour or 24-hour time. GPS UTC date and time remain explicitly GPS-sourced values.
