A ScreenTune Feature Is Missing or Came Back
Confirm the feature is in your package, check it after a cold start, then run REPAIR from the same USB. If the feature was never in the package, add it in My ScreenTune.
0. Worked before and came back? Don’t run REPAIR
Section titled “0. Worked before and came back? Don’t run REPAIR”If the startup disclaimer, menu beeps, or touch lockout came back after working, several features returned at once, or the car just had a dealer visit, don’t run REPAIR. A Mazda firmware update may have replaced ScreenTune. See after a firmware update.
1. Check what the package includes
Section titled “1. Check what the package includes”Compare two lists:
- On the car. Open Applications → Miatafy and select WHAT’S INSTALLED. It lists the ScreenTune changes the car is running, under the car’s own names: Touch while moving appears as Touch controls while driving, for example.
- In My ScreenTune. Sign in and find Your setup on the home page. It lists everything your current package puts on the car, including a package you have not installed yet.
A feature in Your setup but not in WHAT’S INSTALLED usually means the newest package is not on the car yet. Download it, prepare the USB, and choose UPDATE, or REPAIR if the prompt shows the version you already have. See update ScreenTune.
2. Check startup features on a cold start
Section titled “2. Check startup features on a cold start”Skip the startup disclaimer and Wireless CarPlay startup act while Mazda Connect boots. Turn the ignition off, wait two minutes, then start the car and watch the first minute.
3. Run REPAIR
Section titled “3. Run REPAIR”Insert the same ScreenTune USB after the home screen loads and choose REPAIR. REPAIR restores the first-install baseline, then reapplies the whole package on the USB. See repair ScreenTune.
If the feature is still missing after REPAIR, contact support with the USB contents as a ZIP.
Add a feature that was not in the package
Section titled “Add a feature that was not in the package”A feature change in My ScreenTune builds a new package for your car. Install it with UPDATE, or REPAIR if the prompt shows the version you already have. See add or change features.
Quick checks by feature
Section titled “Quick checks by feature”| Feature | Name in WHAT’S INSTALLED | Check |
|---|---|---|
| Touch while moving | Touch controls while driving | Touch the Mazda screen or CarPlay while moving. Android Auto touch needs AA Touch. Touch while moving |
| Skip the startup disclaimer | Shorter startup experience | Visible only on a cold start. Startup notices |
| Remove the reverse-camera warning | Cleaner reverse camera view | Shift into reverse. “Please Check Surroundings For Safety” should be gone from the camera image. Startup notices |
| Shorter page delay | Faster menu response | Hold the commander knob in one direction. Lists start scrolling sooner and scroll faster. |
| Loop the main menu, Loop lists | Looping main menu, Looping lists | Scroll past the last item. The menu or list wraps to the first. |
| Disable interface beeps | Quieter system controls | Menu beeps and some notification sounds stop. The car’s warning settings do not change. Interface and sounds |
| Miatafy Meters | Miatafy Meters | Open Applications. Meters should be listed. If not, see Meters problems. |
| AA Touch | Android Auto touch support, Android Auto touch controls | Android Auto must already connect. AA Touch adds touch to a working Android Auto screen. AA Touch |
| Wireless CarPlay startup | CarPlay auto foreground | Applies to wireless CarPlay on a cold start. The phone’s own handshake time still varies. Wireless CarPlay startup |
| A Mazda service you turned off | Not listed | It stays off and can take dependent features with it: turning off Mazda maps and compass also removes the cluster compass. Mazda services |
If Android Auto or CarPlay does not connect at all, fix the connection first: Android Auto won’t connect or CarPlay won’t connect.
