Change Your ScreenTune Email or Transfer a License

My ScreenTune signs in with the email on the paid order, and each license belongs to one VIN. Support changes either one; My ScreenTune cannot. Transfers and replacement-CMU packages have no fee, and neither restarts your support or update dates.

Email support@miatafy.com or use the contact form with the details for your situation. Replies usually arrive within 48 hours.

If you still read the old address, send the request from it. Include the new address and the car’s VIN. After the change, sign-in emails go to the new address.

Entering your VIN on the sign-in page does not help: the email still goes to the order address. Contact support from the address you want to use and include:

  • the order email address, even if you can no longer open it;
  • the car’s VIN;
  • your receipt or order reference, if you have it; and
  • the approximate purchase date.

The support policy gives you two choices:

  • Leave it with the car. The license transfers to the buyer. Give the buyer the ScreenTune USB, and tell support who the buyer is so the license can move to their email.
  • Move it to your next car. Run REMOVE from the ScreenTune USB for this car first, then ask support to move the license. Send the order email, both VINs, and a photo of the new car’s Settings → System → About screen. Support checks the new car’s compatibility before preparing its package. The license cannot stay active on the old car once it moves.

For the steps before handing over the car, see selling the car or visiting a dealer.

The license stays tied to the original buyer’s order email until support moves it, so a VIN sign-in sends the email to the seller. Send support:

  • your email address;
  • the car’s VIN;
  • the seller’s name or email, if you have it; and
  • a photo of the car’s Settings → System → About screen.

ScreenTune keeps working in the car in the meantime. If the seller left the ScreenTune USB, keep it: it repairs or removes the installed version.

Replacing the CMU in the same car does not count as a transfer. Support reviews the replacement unit and reissues a compatible package at no charge when ScreenTune supports its firmware, region, and infotainment generation.

Check the new unit’s firmware at Settings → System → About first (how to read it). ScreenTune runs only on the first-generation Mazda Connect CMU on v74.00.324 (74.00.324A in North America, or 74.00.324 with a region code elsewhere). Support tells you whether a unit on other firmware needs a firmware update or is not supported.

Send the order email, the VIN, and a photo of Settings → System → About on the new unit. If you already tried to install, add the contents of the ScreenTune USB as a ZIP; see get help. The reissued package appears in Downloads, and the prompt on the new unit offers INSTALL.
